Breast cancer rates fall sharply
Breast Cancer Rates Fall Sharply    The number of women diagnosed with breast cancerbreast cancer    fell sharply in the United States in 2003 -- a decline researchers    attributed to a parallel drop in the number of women taking    hormone replacement therapy. The analysis, presented at the annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, showed that, overall, breast cancer rates dropped by an unprecedented 7% from 2002 to 2003. That means as many as 14,000 fewer women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 than in 2002, a year in which the American Cancer Society estimates there were 203,500 new cases, says researcher Donald Berry, PhD, a biostatistician at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
